Support of short-term hosting of renowned foreign experts

Hosting international experts is a key initiative aligned with Strategic Intent of UCT Prague, designed to enhance the global competencies of both students and staff. This initiative is directed towards departments within UCT Prague and provides financial support for the engagement of internationaly renowned experts.

Through this program, we facilitate either on-campus teaching short-stays or virtual participation by international experts. This arrangement offers UCT Prague’s students and faculty members a unique opportunity to engage with global teachings and expertise without leaving the UCT Prague’s campus. Participants will benefit from the rich professional and educational insights of distinguished international educators and experts.

Additionally, this initiative serves as a platform for the development and expansion of existing networks, fostering new collaborations for future pedagogical endeavors and related scientific research. Engaging in these activities will not only enrich our academic environment but also bolster the prestige and competitive standing of UCT Prague, particularly through involvement in international projects.

 The call aims to strengthen the international activities of scientific, research, and teaching staff, to improve the education of students, and to enhance the international profile of the university through short-term in-person (2-5 days) teaching stays of international experts, preferably from partner institutions. The in-person form of hosting at the UCT Prague is preferred. In justified cases, on-line hosting can also be supported, but its parameters (scope, impact on students, and preparation of longer-term research/teaching cooperation) should correspond to the desired financial support.

The applicant (academic employee of UCT Prague) will receive the financial support per applicant is CZK 40.000 (incl. VAT of 21%) for expenses related to the hosting of an international expert, to ensure online hosting of an international expert support of up to CZK 25.000 (incl. VAT of 21%).

Applications for the Call 2024 are accepted until February 29, 2024.
