Bajusová StelaBajusová Stela

I run for: faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 3rd year of BSc.Analytical and Forensic Chemistry

Who am I?

I am a third-year bachelor's student. I am in the field of study of Forensic Analytical Chemistry at FCHI. Most recently, I am a tutor for the first degree bachelors' students and I have also joined the dance group at UCT, which charges me by a positive energy. I think I'm socially and empathetic enough to be able to express my opinion, but with the knowledge that we all live in our own world with our own opinions. I always try to find a compromise solution. At the same time, I am honest, patient and I like challenges. For these qualities, I decided to accept the nomination and actively participate in improving the system, communication, relationships and general shortcomings in our school for easier cooperation and development not only of the school but also of individuals.

Why should you vote for me?

To begin with, I would like to address the shortcomings in the teaching of specific subjects or teachers, which have become visible, especially during the pandemic, and suggest their improvement. Furthermore, I would like to propose the introduction of more internships not only for master's degree programs, but also for the third year of bachelor's studies, so that we have a better idea of what we are throwing ourselves into. After my experience with a dance association, I would like to support the development of our associations and projects and especially their cooperation. I will be happy for further suggestions for improvement and of course I will fight for comfortable school seats. : D I no longer just want to criticize, but to find a solution for better results. :)

Habiger DominikHabiger Dominik

I run for: faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 3rd year of BSc.Physical and Computational Chemistry

Who am I?

I am a third-year student of our beloved school in the field of study of Physical and Computational Chemistry and also a group tutor. I graduated at Secondary School of Chemistry in Pardubice. In my free time I do scouting, occasional cycling, cimrmanology, hitchhiking, and long-distance walks.

Why should you vote for me?

I would like to know more about the inner functioning of the school with all its strengths and weaknesses. I would like to help, with my work, to improve it as much as possible. I am aware of the importance of extracurricular assets for students, and I would try to support them. I would like to improve communication with students and become its active tool, even if it means visiting Carbon daily. There would be a lot more I would like to change, but no one reads too long paragraphs of text. In the words of the master himself: "Every useless word is useless."

Horký DavidHorký David

I run for: university senate and faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 1st year of MSc.Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering

Who am I?

I am currently studying Chemical engineering and bioengineering in the first year of my masters. At the same time, I really like getting involved in the active student life at UCT. I have been a member of Tutoři for several years, through which I am trying to help other students with their issues. Furthermore, I am involved in K3S, and I used to be engaged in ESN as well.

In my free time, I am very keen on pretty much any kind of sport. Nevertheless, my favourite one is cycling. I love to ride my bike everywhere, both in the Czech Republic and in Europe.

And most probably, I am one of the only 10 people on Earth who eats kiwi unpeeled.

Why should you vote for me?

I decided to run for the Senate for the same reason I joined the Tutors and K3S. I enjoy helping people around me and improving the environment we are in.

In Senate, I would like to focus on changing how we look at teaching and assessing courses and getting more modern technology into teaching (such as a greater computer software implementation). I would like to see a greater emphasis on communication, teamwork, and the practical application of acquired knowledge rather than just memorizing entire scripts and dozens of formulas.

At the same time, I would like to build on my K3S project and promote opportunities for students to directly evaluate the teaching throughout the semester and influence teaching style. I would also like to build on the work of my colleagues in the area of digitizing administration so that there is not so much paperwork and personal presence at school needed, but more things can be managed electronically from home.

Of course, as a senator, I would like to listen to your opinions and suggestions and support their implementation.

Huňa RostislavHuňa Rostislav

I run for: faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 2nd year of BSc. – Chemistry

Who am I?

I am second year studying Chemistry student. My hobbies are chess, lab work and nice music listening. I am also happy to help all students with study or school administration troubles.

Why should you vote for me?

Since the end of last academic year, I have been helping as a tutor, where I try to answer lost students in the school administration. From there, I identified a few areas that needed to be improved. I am happy that everything works as it should and it is efficient and fast – from the faculty senate I would try to solve these areas, among other things so that current/prospective students find everything they need to know with a few clicks and do not have to search for information on the school website, through the websites of the institutes, writing to the dean's office, etc. It would also be nice for the information to be understandable and clear. Last but not least, I would try to promote student associations.

Jíša Jan PavelJíša Jan Pavel

I run for: faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 1st year of BSc.Nano and Microtechnology in Chemical Engineering

Who am I?

Hello, my name Jan Pavel Jíša and I am studying Nano and micro technology at FCHI. Yes I am first grader and I am running for the chair in the Academic senate. It may sound weird but I have much greater relationship with VŠCHT than you might imagine. Basically I have been attending this university for more than 2 years now through various courses. That was the time when I fall love with these walls and so when the big question came where to put my application. The answer was obvious.

What really define a man are his interests and hobby’s. For me it’s mainly surfing, ancient history and modern history, football psychology, theatre, piano, traveling to southern parts of the world mainly Africa and meeting new people.

Offended when we decide to go on a trip with my friends, I am not particularly comfortable with role as a participant. I always be rather in the role of organizer. For the most part I don’t do it for the good feeling or few pats on the back. I do it mainly because when something happens, I am behind the wheel and not giving my fate in the hand of somebody else. Same I have it with everything else I would rather be behind the wheel than just ride along.

Why should you vote for me?

What can I offer the senate is my dedication, willingness to help and mostly ability to work with people. Because of my extroverted nature it’s quite easy for me to bond with anybody really. Then cooperation or negotiation with that person comes down more easily. I have come across multiple times with school politics. For example I have part of the Czech delegation in Madrid on a European private high schools conference.

Personally my goal is help students which need help with studies, mostly in the first semester. Sometime happens that you are good at maths but you are failing in chemistry and your classmate have it other way around. But in the first semester you don’t know really anybody and you don’t what to bother people you don’t really know. So why not create platform where we can you can offer your knowledge in exchange for someone else’s. Therefore you don’t have to look or pay for any tutoring and also can make new friend. Something like VŠCHT tutoring tinder.

 Svoboda DanielSvoboda Daniel

I run for: faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 3rd year of BSc. – Chemistry

Who am I?

My name is Daniel Svoboda and I was born in Pilsen. Currently, I am in my 3rd year of the study program called "Chemie." My field of interest is the chemistry of transition metals. At the UCT, you could also find me at the rehearsals of our school choir ChemChór and among the members of the ESN UCT. I spend my free time pursuing different creative activities such as playing the piano, translating artistic pieces and educational material or tap dancing as well. I find the education to be one of the most valuable things in the modern world. Also for that reason, I collaborate with programs focused on interactive education of mainly high school students. During my high school studies, I've got the opportunity to spend one year in the US, which helped me to significantly broaden my horizons and allowed me to see things from a much different perspective.

Why should you vote for me?

I have accepted the nomination mainly to allow those who have nominated me as a candidate to express their opinion. I take pride in my ability of connecting people and of achieving improvements through such collaborations. I would like to focus on improving study possibilities in a foreign language at the UCT and on improving the entire system of optional courses in general. Through these changes, I'd like to ease and make studies abroad more attractive for the Czech students as studying in a foreign language at their home institution helps them to prepare for studying abroad. Furthermore, these changes should help integrate foreign students studying at the UCT into the Czech student community. It is the lack of interactions between the Czech and foreign students that I see as an unfulfilled potential of the UCT that could bring significant enrichment to the UCT even in the long term.
